Executive Officer, Farmsafe Australia
Recently appointed as the Executive Officer of Farmsafe Australia, Stevi is passionate about farming and the people who do it. Originally from a ranching background in Canada, she has spent the last 15 years in Australia, working and farming in New South Wales. She owns a small property, primarily for raising and training stock horses but has extensive experience in sheep and cattle as well. Stevi holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology and is a strong advocate for increasing wellness opportunities in regional Australia. She is looking forward to being a part of Farmsafe Australia’s revitalization and driving the Safer Farms, Safer Farmers campaigns.
Injury Prevention Special Interest Group Convenor and Vice President - Finance, Public Health Association of Australia; Associate Professor for Public Health - Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, James Cook University
Associate Professor Richard Franklin PHD is Co-Director of the World Safety Organization (WSO) Collaborating Centre for Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences, James Cook University, Australia. A/Prof Franklin is a pracademic who uses an evidence based approach to developing real world solutions to improving health, safety and wellbeing with a focus on rural populations using a public health approach to injury prevention. He has worked on a range of project with a emphasis on drowning prevention, farm safety, workplace health and safety, rural road safety, masculinity, alcohol & drugs, and disasters. He teaches into the Master of Public Health around the foundation public health issues, public health in the workplace, and public health management. He has been involved in the development of a range of strategies to prevent injuries and is current Co-Convenor of the Injury Prevention Special Group of the Public Health Association of Australia. He also supervises a range of masters and doctorate students in public health and injury prevention.
Chief Executive, Rural Safety & Health Alliance
Andrew Barrett is the Executive Officer of the Rural Safety & Health Alliance, a cross-sectoral research and development collaboration of nine Rural Research & Development Corporations. He is a well known thought-leader and innovator in the health and safety profession, promoting and enabling positive change through improved operational learning practices, decluttering health and safety, and executive coaching. Andrew hosts the globally popular Safety on Tap professional development podcast, and is a regular speaker at Australian and international health and safety conferences. He is a Chartered OHS Professional and currently undertaking research at Griffith University. And he still manages to spend quality time with his wife and six kids on their small farm in regional South Australia!
